Human evolution is one of the most interesting and controversial topics in biology. It is a logical conclusion of evolution theory that humans evolved from more primitive organisms. Though there are many protestations against such a statement, our own species has the most complete and gradual account of our evolution in the fossil record.
Though much of the controversy of human evolution centers around our ancestral heritage to primates, the most interesting research studies our social and technological development. Anthropologists not only research the cranial structures of humans and our ancestors, but they also study early human diets, the use of tools, and the beginnings of our society in language, religion, and gender roles. |
