The American Fern Society

Below is a link to the website of the American Fern Society, which is a group dedicated to the objective of fostering interest in ferns and fern allies. To this end it encourages correspondence and the exchange of information and specimens between members. The group is over one hundred years old and has over nine hundred members world-wide. The American Fern Society also publishes three journals: the Fiddlehead Forum for amateurs, the American Fern Journal for professional scientists, and Pteridologia a technical monograph.

The website has a forum for discussions and questions concerning ferns, advice on growing ferns in the home or garden, and a ‘spore exchange’ where you can get fern spores for a small fee and raise them at home. Look through the various links of what the American Fern Society has to offer. If you love growing plants, then perhaps you will find a rich resource of information.
