Consider two lakes, A and B. Both of them receive two inches of acid rain. The pH of lake A drops significantly, killing most of the fish and plants in the lake. The pH of lake B, however, remains about the same as before the rain. What do you think may be different about the soil of these two lakes that would cause such a difference in pH change?
