Turn off the daylight and horizon displays. Open the
"Display" Palette and click on Messier. Click on the
"Selection" button and then on "Find." Type in M49. Be
sure "Magnify for best viewing" and "Pan" are turned on.
Click "Find." When M49 appears, zoom in if necessary
until M49 fills most of the display. With the help of
Figures 23.3, 23.8, and 23.9, classify M49 and record your
classification. Repeat for M51, M64, M81, M82, M83,
M94, M101, and M104. Compare your results with the
classifications listed in Appendix 15.
