Write about the Eiffel Tower by giving statistics such as the total height (hauteur) of the tower; the total weight (poids); the dimensions at the base; the number of steps (marches) in the tower; the name of the contractor (entrepreneur) for the construction; how long the construction (exécution or construction) lasted. Explain when and in what circumstances the tower officially opened (date de naissance or inauguration) and give the name of the owner (propriétaire). Then name a major landmark in your hometown (or a city nearby) and provide similar information about it. Finally, tell why you think people build such structures.
