Click on the CAREERS title at the top of the page. The Quick Job Search feature will help you limit the hunt. 2. Once you locate a firm that interest you, learn move about it by visiting the "top list" section of the enr.com site. Each year since 1965, ENR has surveyed the construction industry to determine the 400 largest general contractors in the U.S. The Top 400 Contractors list, published annually in May, ranks the 400 general contractors, both publicly and privately held, based on construction contracting-specific revenue. Using the search function you can learn more about a particular company. Find “Whiting-Turner” and go to their web site. See if your University is on their recruiting schedule. 3. Visit the "Blogs: ENR Staff" section where ENR's editors and bloggers deliver their insights, opinions, cool-headed analysis and hot-headed rantings. 4. The business of construction is changing rapidly and many of the changes are driven by capturing the power of the Internet. Companies are using Web conferencing to avoid time-consuming and expensive meetings. Wireless communications allow the direct transfer of data from the field to the office. Some of these trends are discussed in Chapter 17 of your text.
