Christiana E. Hilmer is a Professor of Economics at San Diego State University. She received her PhD in economics with a co-major in statistics from North Carolina State University and her BA in economics–mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Hilmer previously held academic positions at Virginia Tech and Brigham Young University. She has published more than 20 articles in leading economics journals, such as the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and Economic Inquiry.

Michael J. Hilmer is a Professor of Economics at San Diego State University. He previously held positions at Virginia Tech, the University of Louisville, Brigham Young University, the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and FMI Corporation. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a BA in economics from California State University, Northridge. Dr. Hilmer has published more than two dozen articles in internationally recognized journals. He has served as an associate editor for the Economics of Education Review, and a content expert for the U.S. Department of Education's "New ERIC" project.
