Laura Myers

Readers and viewers want more than a snapshot of the event, a glimpse of the personality. They want their stories fully framed.

This was the task Laura Myers took on during a presidential race. Myers' job as AP's political editor was to see to it that coverage was fair and balanced, accurate and complete. This meant providing adequate background to the candidates' charges, claims and assertions. Myers asked her team of 25 political reporters to call on their knowledge and political expertise in their reporting.
