About the Author

Robert Mitchell

Bob Mitchell is an educational consultant and curriculum developer specializing in the writing of scientific and mathematical materials for adults. He has authored and coauthored more than 60 books during the last 20 years. Prior to becoming a consultant, Bob taught at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. While there, he worked with a variety of students: adult high school students, community college students, ABE students, and GED students. For several years, he was a manager of Adult Education Programs at the college.

Bob has a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Arts degree, and a Ph.D. in applied physics. His hobbies include reading, skiing, sailing, jogging, and playing chess. In his spare time, Bob works as a volunteer at two grade schools running chess clubs for elementary and middle school students. Bob is married and has two daughters in college.
