It integrates content instruction in science with English-language instruction, promoting language acquisition in a wide range of interesting topics and contexts. A good variety of hands-on activities and experiments will help students make a connection between what they can see, do, and touch and the scientific basis of their findings, thus making learning about their world both engaging and relevant.
