Shelbyville Public Library: Reviewing a Presentation

Rebecca has created a new presentation for Brent’s approval. In this exercise, Brent reviews the presentation and adds comments.

  1. Open the pp06xtra01.ppt presentation.
  2. Save the presentation to your personal storage location as "Library Card".
  3. In the first slide, insert the following comment: Check with Diane regarding our personalized design template. ( Hint: Choose Inset, Comment.)
  4. Navigate to the second slide. Click in the text placeholder and add the following comment: FYI — we may change the age of adult cards to 18 and over. The second slide should appear similar ot Figure 6.1.

  6. Print the presentation with included comments.
  7. Save the presentation and close it.

Beavercreek High School Student Council: Pasting Data from Word

In this exercise, Mita Patel pastes a table from Word into a slide in an existing presentation. Assume the role of Mita and perform the same steps that she identifies.

  1. Open the pp06xtra02.ppt presentation and save it as "New Officers" to your personal storage location.
  2. Start Word and then open the Word document named pp06xtra03.doc.
  3. Copy the table to the Clipboard.
  4. Switch back to PowerPoint and paste the table on to the second slide as an embedded Word object.
  5. CHOOSE: Edit, Paste Special

    SELECT: Microsoft Word Object in Paste Special dialog box.

    CLICK: OK command button

    Adjust the table so that it appears similar to Figure 6.2.

  6. Switch to Slide Show view and then review the rather short presentation.
  7. Save and then close the revised "New Officers" presentation.

ColsOhio.com: Embedding an Excel Chart

In this exercise, Adam embeds an Excel chart in an existing presentation. Assume the role of Adam and perform the same steps he identifies.

  1. Open the pp06xtra05.ppt presentation and save it as "Ad Pitch" to your personal storage location.
  2. Start Excel and then open the workbook name pp06xtra04.xls from you data files location.
  3. Select the chart object and copy the information to the Clipboard.
  4. Switch back to PowerPoint and then move to slide 3.
  5. Use the Paste Special command to embed the contents of the Clipboard as an embedded Excel Chart object.
  6. Refer to Figure 6.3 to adjust and position the chart.

  8. Save and then close the revised "Ad Pitch" presentation.
  9. Close Excel.
