Did You Know?

The Slammer (also called the Sapphire) worm spread with lightening speed in January of 2003. The number of worms doubled every 8.5 seconds in the first minute of the attack. More than 75,000 computers were contaminated within 10 minutes of the worm’s January 25 release.

Viruses, and especially worms, are becoming increasingly fast and deadly. This is a problem that needs to be dealt with in a concentrated fashion for the foreseeable future.
