Autobiographical memories are our recollections of circumstances and episodes from our lives. Interference means that old memories often interfere with the ability to retrieve new information or new memories interfere with the ability to retrieve old memories. Memories of our past are distorted. We may forget troubled childhoods. Remember passing grades not failing grades.
