Case Studies
(See related pages)

In all the chapters the Case Studies represent situations similar to those that the medical assistant may encounter in daily practice. Students are encouraged to consider the case study as they read each chapter.

You are a medical assistant working in a busy family practice office. You have been employed by this office for only one month. Your office manager tells you that because your performance to date has been excellent, you are being given the responsibility of maintaining the sample drug inventory and the office medications. The office has a space that is dedicated to the samples and office medications, but the area is very disorganized and your first task is to organize and implement an inventory system for the drugs.

As you read through this chapter, think about the steps you will take to design and implement an inventory system for your office's medications.
