Victim Assistance
The U.S. Department of Justice established the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) in 1983. OVC provides federal funding for victim assistance and compensation programs throughout the country. It also develops policies and works with criminal justice professionals in order to support crime victims. Visit the OVC website at www.ojp.usdoj.gov/ovc.
