One of Latin music's most well known personalities was Tito Puente. Puente also composed the famous "Oye Como Va" that Carlos Santana made popular in the 1960s. Listen to both versions and write a short paper describing the similarities and important differences between the two versions. See if you can find yet another recording of the tune by another artist.

Latin music is strongly rhythmic and relies heavily on wonderful percussion instruments. Visit http://www.musicofpuertorico.com to learn about the percussion instruments. Make a short class presentation with examples of the typical rhythms played by the instruments you demonstrate.
