The Human Genome Project

Below is a link to a website sponsored by the Division of Extramural Research on the Human Genome project. The Division of Extramural Research (DER) is the unit within the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) that supports and administers the National Institute of Health’s role in the Human Genome Project (HGP), in cooperation with the Department of Energy. Basically, the Human Genome Project is a ten year long, international study to map all of the human genes.

Look around the website to learn more about the Human Genome Project, the technology and techniques used to study the human genome, and the implications of the research when it is completed.
