About the Authors



Romana Capek-Habeković received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. She teaches language, literature and culture courses. She is the author of Tommaso Landolfi's Grotesque Images and the co-author of Insieme (McGraw-Hill), a program for intermediate Italian. She is also the co-author of Taped Exercises for Basic and Intermediate Italian (McGraw-Hill). She has published on twentieth-century Italian authors from Massimo Bontempelli to Giose Rimanelli and Antonio Tabucchi. Her articles have appeared in many scholarly publications. Presently, she is teaching and directing the Italian Language Program at the University of Michigan.

Claudio Mazzola, a native of Milan, received his Laurea from the University of Milan and his Ph.D. from the University of Washington, Seattle. He has taught in major universities and colleges such as The University of Michigan, Vassar College and The College of the Holy Cross. Presently he is Senior Lecturer in Italian at the University of Washington where he teaches Modern and Contemporary Italian Literature and Italian Cinema. He is the author of several textbooks, including Insieme (McGraw-Hill) and Racconti del Novecento, as well as a number of articles, primarily on contemporary Italian cinema.
