  1. Output, in its various forms, is understood to be oral or written language that is produced by L2 learners (or native speakers).
  2. The term access as it relates to accuracy and fluency can be defined as the ability to express a particular meaning via a particular form or structure. Output serves as “access practice” and leads to correctness (accuracy) and ease/speed (fluency).
  3. Krashen’s notion of monitoring is editing your speech when there is enough time to do so and you know a rule to monitor with.
