Members act responsibly. Teamwork helps them overcome problems. Strong families spend time together. They establish and enjoy traditions as a family. Section 8.2 Strengthen Family Relationships Every family has a family system. This is how the personalities and roles of family members act together. What affects one person affects all of them. When teens build strong ties with parents, they will make a base for years to come. Empathy will help teens understand parents' concerns and perspectives. Parents and teens need to talk. Limits and rules are set to direct family life. They also keep members safe. Siblings are brothers and sisters. Sibling relationships tend to be the longest lasting of any in life.
