  1. Flea markets are an important form of lateral recycling. Visit Flea Markets and Swap Markets at www.fleamarkets.com. Surf the site and familiarize yourself with the various offerings of this e-business. Explain some of the motivations for shopping and/or selling this way on the Internet. How might a retailer (brick & mortar) adjust strategies to accommodate these consumer motivations?
  2. Think of a company in your community, one where you work, or one where you would like to work after college. Go to www.recycling.com and review the site. What recommendations would you make to the president of the company on how it could affectivity implement this professional, global network for the recycling of business? Draft a proposal to the president with your recommendations and present it to the class.
  3. Think of things that you own that are stored in the attic, basement or just put away in boxes. Have you ever thought that you could be sitting on potential cash? Visit www.ebay.com and find a category which includes the item(s) that you own. Research bids for these items. Make a list of all the items that have potential value and report your findings to the class.
