Using Presentation Technology

Presentation software is now becoming a standard tool for speakers while presenting information to audiences. You have likely had at least one if not several teachers use PowerPoint as a visual aid during lectures. The pervasiveness of this type of technology has led many public speaking professionals to question whether multimedia visual aids help or hinder speakers.

Based on your own experience, what are some effective and ineffective strategies used by speakers when integrating PowerPoint or other multimedia tools into presentations? Do some teachers use this technology better than others? Can there be "too much" multimedia in a presentation? In what ways do multimedia tools dramatically improve some presentations? What strategies should you and your group members use to maximize the benefits of multimedia presentation tools while at the same time minimizing the disadvantages?
