Using a spiral bound notebook, create a Wonder Book (Harvey, 2002). Use this book to record your thinking and reactions to the reading of your textbook or children's literature. Add questions and ideas related to the course and to your teaching.

Visit inclusion classrooms at different grade levels. Observe the classroom environment, use of assistive technology, and modifications to classroom instruction.

Read 4 to 5 children's literature books that address student diversity. Record the title, author, publisher, and date of publication for each book. Include a brief synopsis of the book and the type of learner addressed.

Develop a thematic interdisciplinary unit for social studies that incorporates the use of a children's literature book. Refer to the children's literature books referenced in the chapter to identify appropriate works.
