Sovereignty involves a nation’s recognized right to decide its own course in civil and foreign affairs, especially as it relates to decisions of self-defense. Most cultures have a concept of a just and unjust war—moral reasons for making war on an enemy and immoral ones. Furthermore, as was discussed in the text, there are also just and unjust ways in which to conduct a war.
