This site lists more than 81,000 viruses. Here you can learn about major threats and new ones. The site lists virus removal procedures.

Symantec's site is a very informative site that lists known viruses and hoaxes. At this site, you can learn how to remove viruses from your computer and where you can send a suspected threat to be evaluated.
