This exercise covers how to bring data tables into ArcMap for thematic mapping. Skills covered in the exercise include: browsing an attribute table, adding a field to an attribute table, editing an attribute table, sorting records in an attribute table, viewing descriptive statistics for a field, joining a data table to an attribute table, selecting fields for display in the attribute table, and exporting an attribute table.

The mapping project file ([exercise name].mxd) and data files (contained in a separate folder) are compressed as a ZIP file and must be unzipped in order to work. Save the file to a location on your computer or external drive and unzip it.
