Fascism is a form of government that demands extreme obedience to government authorities. An exhibit at the University of Wisconsin-Madison explores life under fascism in Italy, a period which spanned 1922-1945.   1. It is clear that the Fascist government had a heavy influence in public education. Why do you think it was important for them to do so?
  2. How do you think that a child raised in Fascist schools might differ from a child raised a generation or two earlier?
  3. To what extent does the American government have a presence in U.S. public schools? Does this impact American children in the same way you imagine it to have influenced Italian children educated in Fascist schools?
