The HUArchivesNet is an electronic journal of African American history published by Howard University. One recent issue of HUArchivesNet deals with Black women in academia. Being an academic is not a common role expectation for African American women, and Black women are very small minority of university professors and administrators. In the past, opportunities for Black women to be students were severely restricted as well.   2. Based on this slide presentation, how do you think that opportunities for White women in academia differ from opportunities for Black women? Among the professors who have taught you, how many are White women, and how many are Black women?
