Current Photosynthesis Research

Photosynthesis is a well investigated and understood biological process, but there is still much for us to learn. The website of the International Society of Photosynthesis research is an excellent compilation and description of current and timely research being conducted at universities and laboratories around the world. Much of the research deals with how herbicides affect photosynthesis, how plants repair damage to photosynthetic structures, and how we can use fluorescence to measure the rate of photosynthesis. This website is a well-organized demonstration of how scientific research still progresses in a topic that will always be a mainstay in introductory science classrooms.
