Natural Selection

Below is a link to a website by the Washington State University. It is a list of readings on the topic of evolution, in particular quantitative genetics. Basically, the exercise in the lab manual is a very simple demonstration of quantitative genetics using black and white beads to show the alleles of organisms in a population.

Read through some of the articles on the website. You will notice that there are many equations and terms such as ‘fitness’ and ‘selection pressure’ are defined mathematically. This shows that despite some claims, evolution can be demonstrated using rigorous mathematical tools.
