Writing an Obituary > A standard obituary

A reporter's first assignment at a newspaper is often to write obituaries. As you try your hand at the exercises below, be sure to conform with the obituary style notes listed in your textbook.

1
A. Write an obituary based on the following set of facts supplied by the funeral home. Assume that your editor just wants a brief (130 words) and that you don't have time to make any phone calls. You're writing this on Tuesday for the Wednesday morning edition of your newspaper.
