Review events associated with the "internment" of the Japanese in California at the following sites: http://www.sfmuseum.org/war/evactxt.html, and http://www.sfmuseum.org/hist10/relocbook.html. The last website is the War Relocation Authority's original report on the evacuation. What is the tone of the piece reproduced there? Scroll to the section "Conservation of Evacuee Property," which states that most of the Japanese stored their personal goods. Find out if later evidence supported this. What dollar value was put on the total of Japanese goods at the time of the evacuation? What other essential sources would add another perspective to this subject?
