About the Author

Annapurna Das, born in India, received her B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. degrees in Physics from Calcutta University, India, M.Tech. degree in Microwave Electronics and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Delhi, India.

As a senior research fellow of CSIR, New Delhi, she was engaged in doctoral research and teaching undergraduate courses in the Electrical Engineering Department of Delhi College of Engineering, during 1980 to 1982 and doctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, during 1983 to mid 1985. She joined the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Anna University in September 1985 where she is presently an Assistant Professor. She is in charge of the microwave laboratory and is engaged in a number of training, research and teaching programmes of the Anna University in the areas of microwaves, EMI/EMC, Electromagnetics and antenna..

She is a life member of Society of EMC Engineers (India) and Indian Society of Technical Educations (ISTE). Her current and major areas of research interest are microwaves, EMI/EMC, Micro-strip Antennas and Electromagnetics.

Sisir K. Das, born in India, obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) Physics and B.Tech. in Radio Physics and Electronics degrees from Calcutta University, M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and Anna University respectively. After a brief spell of teaching and research at the University of Delhi, he joined the Department of Electronics where he undertook the responsibility of setting up the Centre for Electromagentics at Chennai.

Dr. Das now heads the EMC Division at SAMEER Centre for Electromagnetics, Chennai. He is engaged in a number of training, research and consultancy assignments in the areas of EMI/EMC, electromagnetic scattering and antennas. He is associated with several Indo-U.S. collaborative research projects on EMC with NIST, USA.

Dr. Das is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Trans. on EMC, senior member of IEEE, life member of the Society of EMC Engineers (India) and also the Editor of the Journal of the Society of EMC Engineers (India). His current areas of interest are Microwave measurements, EMC measurements and mitigation techniques.
