Modelling Concepts

The UML Standard is maintained by the Object Management Group (OMG). They still maintain the UML 1.5 Standard while they are migrating to the UML 2.0 Standard. (These OMG pages are likely to change as they finish the migration. Starting at the main UML page and following links may be the best way to find the UML 2.0 Specification.) The OMG provides a useful list of UML resources.

IBM, which now owns Rational Software, also has a list of UML Resources. These are mainly related to the Rational tools for software development, which support UML modelling. The Rational Edge is an online magazine produced by IBM that carries many articles about UML and the Unified Process.

IBM also maintains a site for the Rational Unified Process, which again links to many resources.
