Students will read selected passages from Carrie Berry's diary and then will answer questions. Instructional Objectives - Students will be able to read and interpret passages from a Civil War diary.
- Students will be able to draw conclusions about why personal writing can be important to historians.
Student Web Activity Answers- Because of the war, Carrie's family had less food and money than usual.
- Carrie wrote that soldiers took her family's last hog.
- Carrie's diary is a firsthand account of how ordinary people lived during the Civil War.
