"Saving the Rain Forest"
Introduction In this chapter, you have read about the various climate and vegetation zones around the world. One type of climate and vegetation is tropical rain forest. The Amazon rain forest is home to hundreds of plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth. However, the Amazon is in danger-every day it grows smaller as trees are cut to make room for roads and farmland, or to gain access to the resources contained within the rain forest. In this activity, you will visit the Rainforest Action Network to learn more about this endangered region and what you can do to help protect it.
