Objective
  • Familiarize students with summer camps in different Francophone countries
Notes
  • The Guide Vacances Jeunes is a Belgian service that provides a list of youth camps and centers in Belgium, France, and other European countries. Point out to students that some fees are given in Belgian francs (BF, or FB if the text is in French) and others in Swiss francs (CHF). The fees for Camp Claret in Quebec are indicated in Canadian dollars. Have students convert the fees to American dollars by clicking on one or more of the foreign currency exchange links provided and following the simple directions given there.
Expansion
  • If students are able to download the photos and print them out, display the photos of the camps in the classroom. Have students rate the camps and vote on which camp is the best.
