Objective
  • Give students practice using clothing vocabulary to describe models in current défilés de mode by Paris designers
Notes

  • Other vocabulary students might want to use:

     un défilé de modefashion show
     le cotoncotton
     la soiesilk
     la lainewool
     le cuirleather
     les bottesboots
     une écharpe, un foulardscarf
     un chapeauhat
  • At the end of the activity, have students discuss what they have learned in small groups. Then have students read their favorite descriptions to the class.

Expansion

  • If students are able to download and print out the pictures, post them in the classroom. Have students post their descriptions next to the pictures. Students could create their own défilé de mode by reading their descriptions to the class while showing the pictures. If your school has access to a computer program that creates presentations, students could download the photos into it to create their own virtual défilé, writing all of the descriptions in French and reading them out loud as they show their slides to the class.
