Unit 4: The Nature of Matter

Unit review game

Project Type: Model

Students will have an opportunity to show off their creativity during this project. Divide the class into groups of four or five to complete the project. Once the games are complete have all of the groups move around the room and take a turn at each game.

Student Task:
As a class answer the following questions:

  • What were the big ideas covered in this unit?
  • What were the new vocabulary terms used in this unit?

Divide into groups and design a unit review game to help you review the major concepts in the unit. Ideas for games include card games, board games, trivia cards, dice, and spinners. Once you choose the type of game you wish to build, make sure you include all game pieces, directions, questions, and answers. Someone in the group also should design a creative container to hold all of the game pieces.

Time:
It will take one class period to brainstorm ideas and one class period to design and construct the review game.

Possible Resources:
Students can visit these resources for additional information about some of the content found in this unit. However, they should rely on the book for a listing of vocabulary terms and specific content covered in the unit.
