Introduction

Have you ever wondered what the future will bring? Have you wondered what the world will be like one hundred years from now? There was a time when computers were part of the world of science fiction instead of everyday life. What will be part of everyday life in the future? Time travel is a popular topic in science fiction writing. What would it be like to see the future? What would it be like to go back to the past?

For this exercise, you will read about time travel and some of the science behind it. Then you will write about one prediction about what the future would be like if you were able to travel into the future one hundred years from now.

Start with “Time Travel,” click on the link Traveling Through Time, and read this selection. After you have finished, go to “Ask an Astrophysicist” and read the question and answer it.
