Different families and different cultures have different ways of serving food and eating meals. Most meals in the United States are served family style, or with plate or buffet service, or a combination. Meals are more pleasant when attention is paid to the surroundings, the table setting, and table manners. Each type of tableware has a specific place. Table manners show respect and consideration for others. An artistically served meal is visually appealing. Planning and organization are keys to successful entertaining. Buffet service is an easy entertaining option.
