Food for Today ©2010Chapter 3:
The Food SupplyChapter SummaryOur food supply depends on the health of the world's ecosystems. Different components of the food chain work in harmony with natural resources to comprise a healthy ecosystem. In the U.S., food is abundant. Food problems caused by economics, insufficient farming methods, natural disasters, population growth, fuel shortages, and political conflicts affect many people worldwide. Water contamination is also a global issue. To feed the world, we must create more food with the resources we have. |
