A statistical look at cardiovascular disease in the United States

The American Heart Association's annual Heart and Stroke Facts Statistical Supplement gives statistics on CVD risk factors and major forms of CVD. The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) tracks deaths from many causes, including CVD, in their annual Health, United States publication ; statistical tables from the NCHS publication are available online .

Current statistics and Healthy People goals relating to heart disease and stroke are available online at Healthy People 2010: Heart Disease and Stroke.

The CDC Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System looks at health risk behaviors among adults, including things such as diet, exercise, and diabetes prevalence that affect CVD risk.
