Anticipate the Essay Question

If you were your professor, what essay questions would you ask about Chapter One? Keep in mind that they might cover several areas at once! For example:

It is December, and you have just taken over teaching a class of second grade students. The population is rich in diversity, with several nationalities and levels of ability represented. The students' former teacher was a strong believer in part-to-whole, skills-based and teacher-centered instruction. You are a firm believer in the balanced instructional approach. Describe three things that were probably occurring during your predecessor's time in the classroom and identify and justify three changes that you will implement.
