Creating A Database

Case Problems

Download as a Word document: Case Problems Ch02 (25.0K)

Marv’s Marvels: Modify the database

In using the database you decide that there are a couple of changes you would like to make to the structure of the tables. To complete the exercise, you will need to open the file from the last exercise, and ensure that you have completed the problem.

The vendor table is the first object you want to modify. Open the table in design view. Move the Contact field between Name and Address. Change the Address Field Name to read StreetAddress. Close the table, saving your changes.

Rename the Assets table to Equipment. (Hint: right click on the table name and choose Rename from the shortcut menu.) Open the Equipment table in Design view. Insert a row between AssetDescription and VendorID called EmployeeID, with a number data type, and a description of "Employee that equipment is assigned to". Rename AssetID field to EquipmentID, and AssetDescription to EquipmentDescription. Close the table, saving your design changes when asked. Close Access.
