Look on the internet to see if performances of "Los Posadas" still occur today. When and where do they occur? If there is a performance of one near where you live, try and go see it. Make a short in-class presentation of the experience.

In what ways would "lining out" occur in popular music? Is this still a popular way for engaging people to sing?

What religious musical traditions survive in your area? Take the time to visit and if possible talk to one of the performers involved in the music making of that service. If you are successful at speaking with one of them, arrange with your teacher to have the performer(s) come to your class to give a demonstration of that tradition.

Using the circular canon composed by William Billings (appearing in Figure 3.4), transcribe it in regular notation and solve it. Finish this project by trying to sing it or play it on some instruments.

The string trios of John Antes have been recorded on New World Records CD 80507. After listening to one of them, compare it to the string trios composed by Mozart or Beethoven. Are there many differences between the two? Try to be detailed in your answer.
