Elaine P. Maimon, Arizona State University -West
Elaine Maimon is Campus Chief Executive Officer, Provost, and Professor of English at Arizona State University West in Phoenix. In the early 1970's, she initiated and then directed the Beaver College writing-across-the-curriculum program, one of the first WAC programs in the nation. She was a founding Executive Board member of the National Council of Writing Program Administrators (WPA). She has co-authored three books and has directed national institutes (sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities) to improve the teaching of writing.
Janice Haney Peritz, Queens College, City University of New York
Janice Peritz has taught college writing for more than twenty-five years, first at Stanford University where she received her Ph.D. in 1978 and then at the University of Texas at Austin, Beaver College, and Queens College CUNY. Since 1990, she has directed the Queens Composition Program and with others, designed the College's writing across the curriculum program, which was instituted in 1996.
