  3. Describe each of the theoretical perspectives presented in this chapter. Understand relevant terminology associated with each theory. Comment on the unique contributions that each theory makes to the study of child development.
  4. Integrate the themes and theories by understanding the perspective of each theory on issues such as the passive versus active child, continuity versus discontinuity, and situational influences versus individual differences.
