Here is the program of dates and times for events next month at the Freeport Civic Auditorium. The public is invited to all events. Fees, if any, are in parentheses. Write a story.

  • 5, 7 p.m. "Mao as an Expression of the Chinese Political and Cultural Ethos," John Langley, Far Eastern correspondent of the Toronto Star. (Free to members of the Community Events Society; $3 to others.)
  • 10, 8 p.m. A program of chamber music presented by students of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Beethoven, Mozart and Ravel quartets. ($5.)
  • 15, 1 p.m. "The American Indian as Victim," John Dozier, professor emeritus of ethnology of Stanford University. Sponsored by Friends of the First Citizens.
  • 16-20, 1-5 p.m. Exhibition of photographs of nature by the members of the Friends of the Earth.
  • 22, 7 p.m. Speech by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, "Making the Political System Work—A Tribute to Party Workers." Sponsored by the state Democratic Party. ($100-a-plate dinner.)
  • 24-27, 8 p.m. Yerma, a play by Frederico Garcia Lorca. Directed by Francisco Perez. Players are students and faculty of the University of Florida. In Spanish. ($3.)
