Freeport School Superintendent Herbert Gilkeyson announces the following personnel changes that will affect the teaching staff next year:
Adele Bartles moves from sixth-grade English to vocational adviser, Southside High School. Mrs. Bartles took courses over the past three years at Mallory College and earned her M.A. in counseling.
Daniel Fox, physical education instructor in the Horace Mann School, was appointed assistant principal of the school. His teaching post has been filled by Albert Pardone, of Flagstaff, Ariz., who graduated from the university there after three years as a member of the basketball and football teams.
Ron Phealan, fourth-grade teacher at George Packer Elementary School, has resigned to become a driver for Greyhound. He had taught in the system since 1982 and submitted his resignation two months ago, citing his need for higher pay.
Michael Lang, Peoria, III., was hired to replace Phealan after three years at the American School in Warsaw, Poland, where he taught elementary school. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and is 31. Married, two children, 7 and 3.
